BRITWELL SALOME FARM SHOP
We are a family-run livestock and arable farm at the foot of the Chilterns with our Farm Shop in the barn.
We sell our own pork, our grass-fed Aberdeen Angus and Simmental beef and our lamb, hogget and mutton. Our brilliant free-range chickens are from Caroline and Jonathon Lear. In season we have local venison and game birds.
We also have some good British cheeses, including local 'Bix', Waterperry Apple Juice, cereals from Chiltern Natural Foods, Oils from Mead's Farm, Wilstone.
We use pigs from our own,
RSPCA-inspected Landrace-Duroc herd.
The piglets are born outdoors and stay outdoors rooting around
their whole lives.
Our beef is from our 250-head beef suckler herd which is on local pasture all Summer and in barns on hay and silage for the Winter. We take the whole carcass and hang it for 21 days for flavour and texture.
Our succulent chicken comes from Gubblecote (really) in Hertfordshire where the birds are free-range, slow-grown and properly-fed on College Farm by Jonathan and Caroline Lear (Potash Farm Foods).
The shop's lamb, hogget and mutton is often from our flock of 250 locally-grazing breeding ewes depending on Season, or from another local flock or from Staffordshire.
Our butchers make the sausages, cure the bacon and gammons and cook the hams - all from our free-range pork. We also make Natural Sausages and Burgers without any additives, only our own meat and natural ingredients.
The shop takes milk from Lacey's, the local dairy; bread from the Cornfield Bakery in Long Crendon; cakes from Liz Kerr in Britwell and English seasonal veg from Stanton St John and Hinton Waldrist in Oxfordshire.
